1st Workshop BlackCycle: Around circular economy in Europe

BlackCycle is the collaborative R&D project selected in the frame of the Horizon 2020 European Union Programme for research and innovation to put in practice the concept of circular economy to the end-of-life tyres at the European scale. After 18 months of existence, the BlackCycle project consortium led by the French world leader in tire manufacturing Michelin has a lot to say and thus offers the opportunity to European industrials, academics, politics, and institutional representatives to join them at the Michelin’s technology centre at Ladoux (France) for their first annual workshop. The program of the workshop will be composed of plenary sessions around European R&D projects in circular economy, posters sessions dedicated to participants, 4 specific networking sessions around circular economy, raw materials for future mobility, waste regulation in Europe, and pyrolysis: technologies and applications, and two site visits (Michelin’s Museum and circuit tests tracks).

This workshop will be held on Monday the 22nd of November: Save the date and register now !

BLACKCYCLE WAS PRESENT AT 13TH EUROPEAN CONGRESS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING (VIRTUAL EVENT) – 20 TO 23 SEPTEMBER 2021

Ramón Murillo, scientific researcher, and leader of the Environmental Research Group of the partner Icamcyl, and co-workers have presented a poster titled Mathematical model for the conversion of a rubber particle under pyrolysis conditions in the Subtopic Sustainable production, low carbon & circular (bio)economy, clean water. R. Murillo, T. García, A. Sanchís, A. Veses, J.D. Martínez, Instituto de Carboquímica, CSIC, Miguel Luesma Castán 4, Zaragoza, Spain

This work describes the mathematical model developed to predict the conversion of a rubber particle under pyrolysis conditions. Spherical symmetry was assumed for the heat transfer model. A Neumann condition was considered in particle’s center and heat flow from the bulk phase with Newton’s equation was applied.

AMBITION FOR CLIMATE

BlackCycle is proud to have been selected by the AFEP (Association of Large French Companies) for the initiative Ambition 4 Climate which illustrates, through concrete projects, the mobilisation of AFEP’s large member companies to significantly reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout their value chains. These projects are presented with factual data and figures and show the variety of recent investment decisions with a strong potential for reproducibility. Given their characteristics, they mobilise many players and encourage the diffusion of the climate ambition among their suppliers, customers, and partners.
