ENGIE is a leader in the energy transition. As such we are committed to develop green hydrogen projects. ENGIE has an ambitious target of reaching at least 4 GW of electrolyzers producing green hydrogen by 2030, focusing on the regions we are already present.
Portugal, where we are the second largest electricity producer, is one of our key countries to develop this new industry. We are proud to continue contributing significantly to the country's sustainability goals, in particular through the Green H2 Atlantic project in which ENGIE is one of the main shareholders.
Our team is working diligently with its partners to make this project a success. ENGIE is among others developing AHYMS, a highly innovative AI-enhanced Hydrogen Management System, funded by the Green Deal call. This will further enable EDP's coal-fired power plant to be transformed into a hydrogen hub.
AHYMS will simulate and accurately model the future behavior of the electrolyzer installation and, once in use, optimize technically and economically its operation in real-time.
With this state-of-the-art system, which presents some of the most difficult technical and design challenges, we will pave the way for accelerating the hydrogen market and helping the country, our customers, and our partners to achieve carbon neutrality.
