EDITO
WhiteCycle began twelve months ago, the dynamic and motivated team has made great strides toward the project’s goal of closing the loop for complex waste containing PET. It is with great pride that I welcome the WhiteCycle community to discover the consortium’s latest results in this newsletter.
We are glad to share some of the consortium’s technical results with you in this second newsletter ! Studies to evaluate environmental and economic impacts are also progressing in parallel.
WhiteCycle will hold its first dissemination workshop on the 28th of November at Michelin R&D center in Clermont-Ferrand (France). It will be a great opportunity to share the latest results of the project with actors working toward textile sustainability beyond the consortium.

Launch of the First French industrial pilot for automated sorting and fiber separation of end-of-life textiles
Synergies TLC and Les Tissages de Charlieu joined forces to create Nouvelles Fibres Textiles, an innovative and unique pilot line in France that can automatically sort and separate end-of-life clothing as a function of color and composition, while removing hard-points, such as buttons and pre-fraying clothing.

WHITECYCLE’S PRELIMINARY RESULTS - 2023
The WhiteCycle consortium’s close teamwork is yielding very promising results toward its goal of producing the world’s first tyres, lay-flat hoses and clothing from the same waste-streams, which are very complex PET-containing, multi-material circular resources that remain as-yet unexploited.
